Al-Joumhouria daily reported on Wednesday that Hezbollah has been quietly on alert for the past two weeks as it was carrying out field tours in the southern front villages of Lebanon.

According to information made available to the daily, Hezbollah is setting up ambushes and conducting night patrols across the eastern and western highlands of Lebanon, fearing Israeli landing operations. The party leadership also called for secret militant mobilization within its ranks.

Each week, Hezbollah members have carried out mandatory para-military service in various outposts while citizens are being secretly armed across many regions. These armed groups will be in charge of launching raids against the Israeli forces when they violate the country’s sovereignty.

According to military sources close to Hezbollah, Israel has adopted a strategy of moving the battle to the enemy’s land and trying to end the battle in a short period of time. However, Hezbollah’s modern weapons and effective tactics made these maneuvers and strategy costly for Israel in terms of lives and equipment. Thusly, Israel will not be able to use the tactics and strategies as it desires.

Where Israel has historically shown clear superiority has been in the air. But, according to a report issued by Israeli secret services, Hezbollah has now acquired the weapons systems necessary to deny air superiority by the Israeli Air Force, even those flying on a high altitude.

The report added that Hezbollah has advanced anti-aircrafts rockets and will not reveal any further details as part of the “surprises” in any upcoming confrontation.

Sources told the newspaper that, internally, Hezbollah managed to develop its rocket power in terms of efficiency and accuracy, adding that the party will be able to simultaneously fire hundreds of rockets, targeting several key targets deep into Israeli territory.

The newspaper added that Hezbollah prepared its fighters to use different technologies as they are being trained on local grounds in the south on daily basis, stressing that Hezbollah fighters are always at the ready, prepared for battle whenever it may break out.
