Aboul Gheit: Consequences of Hariri stepping down may be dangerous
Arab League Chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit expressed on Thursday his great disappointment over the decision taken by Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to step down on the task of forming a new government.
 
Aboul Gheits comments were made in press statements from New York, where he is partaking in the Security Council session on Libya.
 
“I believe that the consequences of Hariri's stepping down may be dangerous for the future of the situation in Lebanon,” he added.
 
The official also pledged that the Arab League would continue to follow up on the situation in Lebanon and “to extend a hand of support to the country in this delicate circumstance in its recent history.”
 
He called on the International community to continue its support to the Lebanese people in this crucial phase.
