European Union to reduce Russian oil imports by more than two thirds

Head of the European Council Charles Michel announced on Tuesday that the 27 countries of the union agreed on Monday evening to impose a ban on Russian oil which covers more than two thirds of their oil imports from that country following the invasion of Ukraine.

Michel also noted that this reduction which will be applied by the end of year will deny the Russian war machine a huge funding source and will pressure Moscow to end its war on its neighboring country.
