Russia urges Syria's leadership 'to stop the bloodshed'

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday that it is concerned about the sharp deterioration in security in Syria. It urged all "respected" leaders in the country to work toward stopping the bloodshed as soon as possible.

Activists and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that gunmen stormed an Alawite town in a coastal rural area of Syria, killing more than 20 men.
