Qatar says Iran attack sparks fire in area hosting major gas facility

Qatar's interior ministry said on Wednesday that an Iranian attack set a fire at the Gulf state's main gas facility, situated on its north coast.

"Civil defence is dealing with a fire in the Ras Laffan area following an Iranian targeting," the ministry said in a statement after Tehran said it would target energy infrastructure across the Gulf following a U.S.-Israeli attack on its own gas facilities.
