REPORT: A closer look at the achievements of Fmr Minister Mohammad Chatah
         
- Former Minister Mohammad Chatah (1951, Tripoli) was married and had two sons.           

- He completed his primary and secondary education at Tripoli's Evangelical School and the International College in Beirut.           

- He graduated with a BA in Economics from the American University of Beirut in 1974 and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas in 1983 where he had also studied Economics for many years.            

- From 1983 to 2005, he worked at the International Monetary Fund in the USA where he held many posts, including being the adviser to the Fund's Board of Directors for the Middle East region and the Deputy Executive Director.            

- From 1993 to 1997, he served as Deputy Governor of Banque Du Liban.       

- From 1997 to 1999, he was the Lebanese ambassador to the United States.          

- From 2005 until recent, he served as the adviser to the then Prime Minister and current Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri.          

- He was named Minister of Finance of the 70th Lebanese Government in July 2008.
