REPORT: Minister Bassil to LBCI: Nasrallah’s remarks on Bahrain do not reflect Lebanese government’s stance

Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil stressed that the statement launched by Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah regarding Bahrain do not express the position of the Foreign Ministry or the Lebanese government.

Speaking to LBCI, the minister rejected the issuance of a statement condemning Lebanon, adding that Lebanon’s stance does not differ from that of the Arab countries concerning the abstention from interfering in the internal affairs of Bahrain.

“We understand Bahrain’s request not to intervene in its affairs,” he said.
