Minister Jreissati: Nylon bag will cost 100 LBP as of October 15
Minister of Environment Fadi Jreissati declared on Tuesday that each nylon bag will cost 100 LBP as of October 15.
 
“Lebanon has the highest consumption of plastic bags compared to the number of its citizens,” he added.
 
“This is not a new tax, we are just asking citizens to use the alternative bags that we will provide for free,” Jreissati went on saying.
 
The minister pointed out that this issue only needs “a good will and a change of habits.”
 
“This is the beginning of the road of our long battle against plastic,” he concluded by saying.
