Rai: We want the International conference to stabilise the Lebanese entity and to implement International resolutions
Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai addressed a speech on Saturday in front of the crowds that gathered in Bkerke to show support for his call for neutrality and an International conference for Lebanon.
 
During his speech, Rai considered that “the failure to abide to the neutrality policy is the cause behind of the country’s sufferings.”
 
“Experiences proved that whenever some people side with a regional axis, wars break out and the state is divided,” Rai added.
 
He also stressed that “the essence of the independent Lebanese entity is neutrality.”
 
“What we want from an International conference is to stabilize the Lebanese entity which is seriously endangered,” He said.
 
“We want it to support the democratic Lebanese entity so it no longer be a victim of conflicts,” he added.
 
The Patriarch also stressed that the International conference should take all necessary procedures to implement the International resolutions related to Lebanon that were not implemented yet or partially implemented in order to stabilize Lebanon’s independence and sovereignty and to allow the Lebanese state to spread its authority on all Lebanese territories.
 
“We want the conference to place a speedy implementation plan to prevent the naturalization of Palestinians and secure the safe return of the displaced Syrians,” Patriarch rai stressed.
 
“Do not stay silent about corruption and the chaos in the investigations related to the Beirut blast,” he added.
 
“Do not stay silent about illegal or non-Lebanese arms, and the imprisonment of innocent people or the naturalization of Palestinians, the failure in forming a new Cabinet and reforms,” he concluded by saying.
