Private hospitals suspend receiving patients
Following the decision issued by the Court of Appeal in Beirut on the Ella Tannous case, the Syndicate of Hospitals in Lebanon announced on Monday that all private hospitals' departments and out-patient clinics will stop receiving patients, except for emergency, dialysis and chemotherapy cases until May 15.

It is worth noting that the Court of Appeal issued last week a verdict against all doctors involved in the case of Ella Tannous, a toddler who had her 4 limbs amputated following a viral infection.

Judge Tarek Bitar has fined AUBMC and Notre Dame des Secours Hospital 9 billion Lebanese Lira and a monthly stipend four times the minimum wage in Lebanon to Tannous.

Her parents have also been granted 500 million Lebanese Lira.
