REPORT: Gangnam Gaza Style, the coastal enclave’s new internet sensation

Young Gazans resorted to using a cell phone to video their version of the hit song Gangnam style entitled “Gaza style”.

Gangnam Gaza Style mimics South Korean singer Psy’s dance moves, adding to the wave of copies of the song on Youtube.

Mohannad Barakat, the leader of the group who produced the video told Reuters that the youth in the video made it in hope of highlighting their plight in a new and funny manner.

The United Nations estimates the unemployment rate in the Gaza Strip at more than 40 percent, but local experts say that the figure would be about 60 percent, under the blockade imposed by Israel.
