REPORT: Court jails reporter accused of insulting Abbas
                  
An appeal court in Bethlehem upheld on Thursday a sentence jailing the Palestinian correspondent of al-Quds satellite channel Mamdouh Hamamreh for a year over insults launched against the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas.                        

Mamdouh Hamamreh, was charged with "reviling the president" and spreading hate material.                        

Accusations against Hamamreh were based on the claim that intelligence agents found a picture on Facebook depicting Abbas beside the picture of an antagonist from a Syrian television series.
