The Salameh file 'rests' in Beirut, while being 'active' in Europe

According to Al-Akhbar, the Public Prosecution Office received from the Central Bank a CD containing data about the accounts of the former governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, his son Nady, and his friend Anna Kosakova, as well as his assistant Marianne Hoayek.

This article was originally published in, translated from Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar.
This followed the freezing of their accounts and the lifting of banking secrecy upon the request of the head of the Special Investigation Commission, acting Banque du Liban (BDL) Governor Wassim Mansouri, in response to US sanctions against them.

Judge Ghassan Oueidat transferred the case to the First Investigative Judge in Beirut, Bilal Halawi, to take appropriate measures, meaning, in the Lebanese context, more procrastination and wasting time, unless the judge decides to perform his duty, according to the Al-Akhbar newspaper.

As for the latest developments in the investigations opened in Luxembourg, which issued decisions to seize assets related to the investigation against Salameh, his son, his brother, and Kosakova, Al-Akhbar reported that Raja Salameh withdrew his appeal to lift the seizure on the assets of two companies, "leaving them under the jurisdiction of the judicial authorities in Luxembourg."
