France is holding "talks" with the UAE to find alternatives to Russian oil, which has been subject to a European embargo, said French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire on Sunday.
In a statement to "Europe 1" radio and "CNews" channel, Le Maire confirmed that "talks are already underway with the UAE," explaining that Paris is looking for "alternatives from gas or diesel imports from Russia."
On Friday, the European Union officially approved the sixth package of sanctions against Russia in order to dry up the sources of funding for its war against Ukraine.
