The world’s greatest tennis players will reunite one last time at this year’s Laver Cup, while all time great Roger Federer will bring the curtain down on a remarkable career that saw him win 20 Grand Slam trophies.

While the main focus of this year’s Laver Cup has undoubtedly been the retirement of the Swiss tennis legend, all eyes will be on the reunion of one of the most iconic quartets sports has seen: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, also known as the Big Four.

These tennis superstars have lifted some of the most prestigious trophies on the biggest stages in tennis; combined, they have to their tally 4,043 tour-level wins, 66 Grand Slam trophies (Nadal – 22, Djokovic – 21, Federer – 20, and Murray – 3), and 329 tour-level crowns.

Hampered by a knee injury, the 41-year-old tennis prodigy had not taken the court since the 2021 Wimbledon quarterfinals, and announced his retirement earlier this month.

Federer’s last ATP Tour match will take place on Friday evening, as he will appear for Team Europe alongside long-time rival and friend Spain’s Rafael Nadal, in a dream doubles pair to play Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock.

The pair took the world of tennis by storm, in a golden era of the game, playing nine Grand Slam finals, and 40 matches overall.

The rivalry of over two decades will come to a noble end in a super special match where the Swiss and the Spaniard will be on the same side of the net, for one last time.

In a climax worthy of Federer’s achievements, the friends and rivals will look to end Roger’s career on a high, with a win in the Cup.
