Facebook says 56 million users in MENA region are active monthly

Facebook officials said on Tuesday that 56 million users are active monthly in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region), adding that 28 million visit the social media sit on a daily basis.              

According to Jonathan Labin, head of Facebook in the Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, at least 56 million users in the MENA region use Facebook monthly, pointing out that the most significant development is that users are increasingly signing in to their Facebook accounts via their mobiles.          

Labin added that globally, there are 1.155 billion monthly active users and 699 million daily users, with 469 million of them active via mobile applications.
