Former Miss Italy contestant arrested over drug trafficking charges

Former contestant in Miss Italy Samantha Scarlino has been arrested in a crackdown on drug trafficking in Italy.

Scarlino was reportedly one of many accused international drug smugglers, and was accused of bringing drug money from Peru to the presumed head of the drug organization in Milan.

According to the courts, this trafficking network has brought more than five hundred kilograms of cocaine into Italy, as well as Belgium, Holland, Spain and France.
