Taiwan to work with other nations to press Vietnam for compensation
Taiwan said on Friday it would coordinate with Japan and other nations to press Vietnam for compensation, after riots in the southeast Asian nation damaged many factories owned by these countries.
  
Taiwan Foreign Minister David Lin made the comment during a news conference with Vietnam's representative in Taipei. No other details were immediately available.
  
Heated anti-China protests in Vietnam claimed at least one life and were largely targeted at Taiwanese facilities mistaken by the protesters as being Chinese-owned.
  
Foxconn Technology Group, a major manufacturer of Apple's iPhones and iPads, said it would let its workers in Vietnam take three days off, starting from Saturday, for safety reasons.
  
Mobs in Vietnam this week set ablaze a huge steel plant being built in Vietnam by Formosa Plastics Group, Taiwan's biggest investor there.
