Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is paralyzed, in a wheelchair, cannot speak and has memory problems, says former racing driver and a good friend of Schumacher's, Philippe Streiff.
Streiff, who is himself wheelchair-bound since a crash in Brazil during pre-season tests in 1989 left him a quadriplegic, was speaking on French radio, when he said that “Schumacher is getting better but everything is relative.”
Streiff was seen visiting Schumacher when the latter was in intensive care in Grenoble Hospital, France.
Schumacher was transferred to Lausanne Hospital, Switzerland, in June and he is now at his house on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Schumacher suffered a ski accident in the French Alps on December 29 last year, which left him brain damaged and fighting for his life.
