Saleh describes protesters as “arm dealers”
In a televised address from his Riad residence, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh accused the protesters of being corrupt and described them as “arm dealers” who are utilizing young protesters to topple the regime, on Wednesday.
“Those who went to the University Square in support of the youth protest have fed on corruption and are dealers of arms and lands”, Saleh said.
Saleh added that the Yemeni people know very well that these corruptors burden the political system.
In late 2010, Yemeni protestors demanded an end to President Saleh’s thirty-year rule. On June 3, 2011 Saleh was injured in an attempted assassination, taken to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment where he currently remains.
