Retaliation against senior Syrian defectors

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the brother of a prominent officer who defected from the Syrian army was killed today after being kidnapped.

The Head of the Observatory Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP that security forces had handed over the body of Mohammed Harmoush, brother of recently defected General Hussein Harmoush, to his family last night, only hours after his arrest following a military operation in Jabal al Zawiya.

Military sources told SANA that “Syrian Armed Forces carried out a military operation on Thursday morning in the village of Iblin in Jabal al Zawiya arresting several members of armed terrorist groups”. The sources added that three soldiers were killed and three others wounded during the military operation confirming that they found large quantity of weapons, ammunition and military uniforms .
