Molotov cocktail hits Tunisian consulate in Libya

Officials say two people in a car have thrown a Molotov cocktail at the Tunisian consulate in the Libyan capital of Tripoli.

The secretary-general of the Tunisian Foreign Ministry in Tunis told Mosaique FM radio that no one was injured in the Tuesday incident. Hedi Ben Abbes says the device slightly damaged an outer wall of the consulate building and some cars parked nearby.

The attack came two days after Tunisia extradited the former Libyan prime minister, Al-Baghdadi Al-Mahmoudi, to his homeland in answer to a Libyan demand, despite fears he might be killed or tortured. Al-Mahmoudi had been jailed for 8 months for illegally crossing the border into Tunisia.

Libya wants him to answer for his actions under dictator Moammar Gadhafi, who was ousted and killed last year.
