Iraqi attempt to prevent Kurdistan arms deal
A security official announced that Iraqi authorities are in the midst of preventing a "secret arms deal" involving anti-aircraft missiles whom President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region  Massoud Barzani had forged with a foreign nation.

The official told the French press that the weapons included anti-tank missiles, aircrafts, and large quantities of heavy weapons most of which are Russian models manufactured in 2004.

The security official pointed out that this step is an outright violation of the law and the Constitution of Iraq since the only body authorized in those regards is the Federal Ministry of Defense.
