French troops officially leave Afghan district of Surobi
French troops officially withdrew from Surobi, a region near Kabul on Tuesday, a step towards their complete withdrawal from Afghanistan expected by the end of 2013, AFP reported.

Surobi, where the security responsibility has been officially transferred to Afghan troops on April 12, is one of the three main deployment points for about 3,000 French soldiers who are still in Afghanistan, in addition to the neighboring Kapisa province and Kabul.
