Oldest manuscript of the Holy Quran found in Yemen
A Yemini young man found in a cave what is claimed to be the oldest manuscript of the Holy Quran in the city of Dhale, southern Yemen.

He says that he reached the bottom of the cave using a rope and found there the manuscript wrapped in leather.

Although he was offered around $56,000 in exchange of the Quran, the young man preferred to hold on to his treasure.

According to preliminary tests conducted on the copy of the book, the claims appear to be genuine. 

The inscription on the cover of the holy book says "This manuscript was handwritten in 200 hijri year (815 AD)". The Arabic alphabets do not have dots which were introduced in later periods to distinguish the letters, which indicates the age of the manuscript.

Reports claim that the man found along with the manuscript, a sword that is said it be given by Prophet Mohammad to his son-in-law Imam Ali Bin Abi Talib, 4th Caliph of Islam and leader of Shiites.
