Gamal al-Banna, Muslim Brotherhood founder's brother, dies at 93

Egyptian Author Gamal al-Banna, the younger brother of the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood Hassan al-Banna died on Wednesday at age of 93 due to heart complications.

Born in 1920, Banna was a liberal thinker who wrote about controversial Islamic issues. He wrote and translated more than 150 books.

Banna lectured for 30 years at the Workers University in Cairo. He was also a consultant for the Arab Labor Organization.
