COP29 must show global climate cooperation 'not down for the count': UN chief

COP29 must show that global cooperation "is not down for the count," the U.N.'s climate chief said Monday, days after Donald Trump's reelection raised the prospect of a U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Agreement.

Simon Stiell also appealed for an "ambitious" new goal of providing climate funding to the world's poorer nations: "Let's dispense with any idea that climate finance is charity."
