Washington advises Americans not to travel to Kenya

The U.S. advised its citizens Friday not to travel to Kenya where foreigners are lately being subject to attacks.

The U.S. State Department said in a statement that the U.S. is frequently receiving information on possible threats to target American, Western and Kenyan interests, especially after the death of Osama Bin Laden.

The State Department explained that the reason behind this advice for Americans not to visit Kenya is the frequent abduction of Europeans during the past few weeks. These abductions took place around 100 km from the Kenya-Somali border.
