Iraq will respond to any Israeli violation of its airspace

Iraqi authorities said on Monday that they will be responding to any Israeli violation of Iraq’s airspace, should Israel chose to strike Syria via its boundaries.

In this regard, Deputy Prime Minister Hussain al-Shahristani said in an interview with Agence France Presse that “Israel has to bear its responsibility if it violates the country's borders.”

Shahristani added that Iraq will not allow the use of its airspace to strike Syria; neither will it allow the use of its territories to transport weapons to Syria.
