Police: Flydubai co-pilot completed part of flight training in New Zealand

The Flydubai co-pilot who stabbed the plane’s captain in what was reported to be an attempt to bring down the aircraft last week had been in New Zealand to complete part of his flight training for a UK-based company, New Zealand police said in a statement Tuesday.

Police said the man lived in New Zealand from November 2018 to May 2019 on a six-month student visa.
