Syria’s Assad: Algeria’s support for the Syrian people is not out of the ordinary

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad said on Wednesday that the support of the Algerian people for Syria is nothing out of the ordinary seemingly since the Algerian people have underwent similar experiences to what the Syrians are experiencing now in confronting terrorism.                     

During a meeting held with a delegation from the Algerian National Committee for Supporting the Steadfastness of Syria, which comprises Algerian political, media and academic figures and is chaired by head of the committee Ramadan Boudla'a, President Assad noted that both the Syrian and the Algerian people have an honorable history in defying colonialism.                           

Assad added that regional developments affirm the need for uniting the efforts of Arab figures and nationalist in order to confront the takfiri plots that are targeting the Arab world.      

For its part, the Algerian delegation reiterated the Algerian people’s support to the steadfastness of the Syrian army, stressing that plots of division which are backed by regional and international sides target all Arab citizens.
