Charbel: Sleiman signed wage decree, raise will be implemented this month

Prior to the cabinet session being currently held in the Grand Serial, Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas told LBCI that the president signed the wage adjustment decree Wednesday morning. Nahhas added that it will be published in the gazette and the raise will be implemented by the end of the month.

The cabinet is currently holding a meeting chaired by PM Najib Mikati in the Grand Serail to look into the 59-item agenda, namely item 37 related to the Ministry of Energy. Item 37 includes the finalization of the high-voltage power lines in Mansourieh area supposedly to add 220 Kilovolts to the power supply in the region.

The cabinet will also be discussing item 46 regarding a draft decree that aims at amending draft decree number 14293 regarding public security conditions in building, establishments and elevators as well as prevention from fires and earthquakes.
