Journalist Nassir al-Asaad passes away

Journalist and political writer Nassir al-Asaad died of a heart attack on Sunday. Asaad assumed many professional and political positions. He has been a member of the March 14 General Secretariat since 2009. Asaad was a regular political writer in Al-Joumhouria daily after he left Al Mustaqbal.

Asaad was leftist, a member of the Permanent Lebanese Dialogue Conference, and the link between Kornet Chehwan and former PM Saad Hariri.

From 2005 and until the day he died, Asaad believed in the Cedar Revolution and was one of its most prominent defenders.
