Lebanon did not enter on Tuesday evening the scope of the storm Alexa after various warnings that the expected weather will be stormy and rainy with snow at 1000 meters above sea level.   

This as Caretaker Education Minister Hassan Diab called on private and public schools to close on Thursday due to the ongoing storm in Lebanon.  

Roads:                         

The Directorate General of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued a report on Wednesday during which it said that the Kfardebian-Ouyoun al-Siman road is only passable for equipped vehicles while the road of Ouyoun al-Siman Hadath Baalbek is blocked due to heavy snowfall.             

The report added that the roads of Akoura, Laqlouq, Ehmej, Al-Mnaytra, Hadath Baalbek, Afqa, and Lasa are all blocked due to heavy snowfall.       

The roads of Zahle, Dhour Choueir, Maaser el-Chouf, Kefraya and Ehden, as well as the roads of Hadath el-Jebbeh-Tannourine, Qbayat-Hermel, and Wata Meshmesh-Fnaydek are also blocked due to snow.  

The road of Deir ek-Ahmar-Aynata, it is passable for equipped vehicles.                   

As for the capital, traffic in various regions of Beirut was considered as normal especially in Dbayeh, Hay el-Solom; however, severe traffic jam was witnessed on the western route of the Dora highway towards Beirut.               

The airport road it remained passable for all cars.

Agricultural Research Institute:
    

Meanwhile, the Director General of Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute Michel Afram said that Lebanon is witnessing the beginning of the storm, adding that heavy rain will start falling as of the afternoon.  

Afram noted that the temperature in Bekaa reached zero (0°C) and all mountains at an altitude of 1,000 meters are currently covered with snow, and heavy rains mixed with snow are falling in the Bekaa Valley.   

Afram mentioned that the amount of rainfall in the past few hours reached 10 millimeters, adding that Lebanon is expected to reach on Sunday the annual rate of rain.
 
The meteorological department of the Civil Aviation Authority expected today's weather (Wednesday) to be stormy and rainy with snow at 1000 meters above sea level.  

The meteorological department added that snow will intensify gradually and will reach 500 meters in North Lebanon.   

For his part, the Head of the Meteorology Department at the Beirut international Airport Mark Whaibi told LBCI "until now, 'Alexa' has not yet brought the expected rainfall".

ISF:

The Directorate General of Internal Security Forces announced that the cases of death due to asphyxia become more frequent in the winter season.

For this, the ISF-Directorate called on all Lebanese citizens and refugees to take precautionary measures in order to avoid asphyxia incidents or any other accidents that may cause death.
