Yemen military men strike to get rid of boss
A Yemeni officer says about 1,000 military men are on strike to demand the expulsion of their department chief, who is also outgoing President Ali Abdullah Saleh's press secretary.

Anwar Abdullah, an officer in a department that deals with public affairs and army morale, said Monday that the strikers demand the ouster of department head Maj. Gen. Ali al-Shater for mismanagement.

"We have been treated inhumanely by a dictator who also ignores all our rights and financial problems," he said.

Abdullah said al-Shater has his own prison in the office and some were jailed for even minor offenses.
