Mashnouq: Disarming Beirut not intended to cause confrontation
Future Movement MP Nohad Mashnouq explained on Tuesday that “the disarmament of Beirut is not intended to cause confrontation with anyone; it rather aims at achieving civil peace in entire Lebanon starting from Great Beirut, in light of the storms sweeping the region.”

Following his meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh accompanied with a delegation of Beirut MPs, Mashnouq highlighted the importance of curbing internal strife.

Commenting on the resumption of national dialogue, Mashnouq said “that dialogue is preconditioned and these conditions do not exist”, adding “it is obvious that what remains on the dialogue table is the item related to weapons and the defense strategy, an item on which there is still no consensus at a time when civil peace should be agreed upon by all political parties.”
