Ice hits Bekaa, kills rodents, ends crops
Lebanon, the Bekaa region in particular, has been hit by a cold snap accompanied by a north wind and a drop in temperature, covering the plain with a layer of ice.   

Farmers considered that the ice exterminates rodents and insects; however, agronomists believe that what the ice is truly damaging are the crops.    

Some elderly residents confirmed that “whatever is reached by ice is reached by snow”, adding that this was proven to be true in recent years.
