Sheikh Orsan Sleiman dies of wounds sustained in Ain el-Helweh shootout
Sheikh Orsan Sleiman, a top official at the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects, also known as al-Ahbash, died on Tuesday of wounds he sustained in the Ain el-Helweh shootout, almost one week ago.

On Wednesday the 9th of April, Sheikh Sleiman was wounded in a shootout carried out by masked gunmen in the Ain el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon.

The development came after eight people were killed and ten others were wounded in fierce clashes at the nearby Mieh Mieh Palestinian refugee camp.

Gunfire was said to have erupted early Monday in the Mieh Mieh Palestinian refugee camp between supporters of Jamal Sleiman, a local armed group leader, and others from al-Rashid family on the backdrop of a previous dispute.
