One month on, Arab monitors submit decisive report

Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Bin Huli confirmed on Thursday that the head of the Arab monitoring mission in Syria is due to submit today a decisive report to proceed with the monitoring mission which is currently drawing harsh criticism for stopping short of halting blood shedding.

“We are at a turning point as the Arab observer mission's report will be presented on Thursday, marking a month since the protocol was signed," Ben Helli told Qatari state media late on Wednesday.

The Arab ministerial committee tasked with the Syrian issue will convene next Saturday in Cairo to study the report and give recommendations to the Arab ministerial meeting on Sunday.

Domestically, Syrian opposition leader Kamal al-Labwani confirmed that the Syrian forces have retreated from the town of al-Zabdani near Lebanon after defectors agreed to a ceasefire.
