Khoury: Stop messing with the judicial system

The Minister of Environment Nazem Khoury urged Lebanese politicians to lay hands off the judicial system.

The minister wondered during an interview on Voice of Lebanon radio station today, as to how a certain group (which he failed to name,) dares to field its candidate as head of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Khoury retorted that such an attitude would be tantamount to blatant "politicization." He denied working on "secret agendas" and blamed general Aoun of what he termed as his unfair lashing out at PM Mikati and the president who constitutionally-speaking, preserves full right to dissolve the parliament.

He urged Christians to detach from Sunni-Shia polarizations in line with the National Charter and that Hezbollah remains adamant over holding onto its arms.

The minister praised recently-held Kataeb-sponsored conference of European Right to Center parties as a means for conveying the true "Lebanese message inspired by the Papal injunction.
