Yemen minister escapes assassination attempt

Yemeni Information Minister Ali al-Amrani escaped an assassination attempt in the capital Sanaa on Tuesday, an aide said.

Amrani's secretary, Abdel-Basset al-Qaedi, said unidentified assailants opened fire on the minister's car after the weekly cabinet meeting and then fled. He said the minister was not hurt.
