Ain Najem – Mansourieh residents' cry against high-voltage power lines

58 is the number of apartments affected by the high-tension power lines in the region of Ain Najem – Mansourieh reached 58.        

In an attempt to solve this problem, the government is suggesting that 58 families sell the apartments they have been living in for years, granting them a deadline until February 10th to take the decision of selling or else, the high-voltage power lines will be extended.        

However, residents rejected this suggestion in a press conference, considering it as a form of “forced displacement”.        
The residents pointed out that the government intentionally overlooked the additional property of St. Theresa Maronite Church, making the total number of properties 59, falling within an area of ​​850 meters. They added that the government’s offer also overlooked a wider surface of about 3900 meters, the area that includes the Maronite project over which the high-voltage power lines are extended.     

The residents announced that if the government does not respond to their demands, they will organize peaceful protests like they used to do, adding that they have no other choice.
