Wahhab: I do not advise anyone to bet on major changes for new policies

The Head of the Arab Tawhid party former minister Wiam Wahhab said on Sunday that the Syrian situation is under control, adding that President Bashar Assad is insisting that no Syrian citizen should point a weapon at another Syrian citizen.

“The Syrian army is still capable of settling this problem and protecting all Syrians”, Wahhab said. Wahhab added that Assad is keen on the good interest of all Druze with no exception, adding that Assad entrusted him with the task of informing all religious figures that the situation in Syria differs from footage shown by the media.

Wahhab stressed that the Chouf will remain united and calm, in light of slight political differences, adding that the interest of the Druze sect is above all other interests.

 “I do not advise anyone to bet on any major changes to build their new policies”, he said, adding that the Lebanese political scene in founded on brittle balances.

 “The resistance in the region is very strong and unbeatable”, Wahhab said.
