Education Minister Elias Bou Saab told LBCI on Wednesday that he called Prime Minister Tammam Salam who confirmed that he was not aware of the resumption of the filling works of the fourth basin of the Beirut port.
In this regard, Bou Saab said that Salam stressed that the works will be suspended until consensus is reached.
Bou Saab added that it remains to be revealed as to which authority is responsible for supervising undergoing works at Beirut port, stressing that the filling of the fourth basin will be suspended until a legal solution is found.
Truck owners had resumed their sit-in in the morning after the filling works resumed, which were put to an end as soon as the Director General of General Security Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim arrived to the port to voice solidarity with the truckers.
