Israeli police tighten security at Al-Aqsa Mosque, fear far-right attack

The Israeli police reported on Tuesday that it had increased its readiness level at Al-Aqsa Mosque and east Jerusalem’s Old City.

Police units have been deployed since the early morning around the Temple Mount and the Old City to defend the temple in the wake of an extremist right-wing group’s call to raid the mosque, Israeli police spokeswoman Luba Samri reported.

Samri added that Al-Aqsa Mosque is open for visits as usual.
