Priest killed by car in gruesome highway accident in Dbayeh

Fr. Youssef Khoury was killed on Wednesday morning after he was hit by a speeding car near the St. Rita School on the Dbayeh-Beirut highway.

His remains were found scattered across the highway and a card identifying him as Fr. Youssef el-Khoury was found nearby.

It is worth mentioning that the remains were found under a footbridge which raises questions on whether he was actually in the process of crossing the highway.

Red Cross members worked on gathering the remains of the body and transferred them to the Saint Joseph Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Traffic Control Room is working on determining the car responsible for the priest’s death.
