REPORT: Families of abducted troops to meet soldiers in Arsal, Saturday

Families of the Lebanese soldiers kidnapped by the al-Nusra Front are set to head to border town of Arsal tomorrow (Saturday), to meet with the abducted troops.

Meanwhile, the families of soldiers kidnapped by the Islamic State headed to Arsal to claim the release of their loved ones.

The hostage troops and policemen were captured when jihadists from the Nusra Front and the Islamic State militant groups briefly overran the border town of Arsal last August and engaged in fierce battles with the Lebanese army.

Four captives have so far been executed, and the jihadists have threatened to kill the remaining hostages unless there is a deal to free Islamist prisoners in Lebanon.
