General security arrested Saturday the alleged emir of the Islamic State in the northern district of Akkar along with another member of the extremist group.
The arrestees, identified as B.F. and Aa.M., were detained on charges of recruiting Lebanese people for IS and purchasing and delivering military equipment.
Suspect Aaa.M., according to a statement, confessed that “he was preparing to carry out a suicide attack against an army barracks or a military patrol.”
