Hariri criticizes position of Foreign Ministry at Arab League
Future Movement leader Saad Hariri criticized on Friday the position of the Foreign Ministry at the Arab League meeting on Iran, stressing that it does not reflect the opinion of the majority of the Lebanese people.

Hariri’s comments were made in a statement, whereby he stressed that “a dissociation policy transforms into alignments when the Lebanese foreign ministry finds itself, for the second time, standing outside a position supported by the states of the Arab League.”

Early in January, Arab diplomats rallied behind Saudi Arabia, except Lebanon, in a dispute with Iran that has endangered to ruin efforts deployed to resolve Middle East conflicts.

Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil voiced Lebanon's rejection of an Arab League statement condemning Hezbollah over alleged interference in Bahrain.

The Arab League session was requested by Saudi Arabia to tackle the attacks against its embassy and consulate in Tehran following the execution of Sheikh Nemr al-Nemr.
