Hassan Khalil to LBCI:Ministry provides 182 drugs for incurable, cancerous diseases

Health Minister Ali Hassan Khalil told Nharkom Said on Saturday that medication smuggling can occur in any country, adding that he is not responsible for this problem; “my mission is to follow up on this issue in pharmacies”.

Khalil said that Lebanon lacks a central laboratory, adding that there are standards upon which medications are imported.

He said that all cancer drugs adopted by the Health Ministry are available. “Some companies are adamant to commercialize some drugs that are not adopted by the technical committee”, he said.

Khalil stressed that the ministry provides around 182 medications for incurable and cancerous diseases, distributed in an advanced way.

On the dispute between PM Najib Mikati and House Speaker Nabih Berri, Khalil said that Berri is annoyed by the deterioration of the government’s performance in addressing many issues. “Berri is raising the tone, perhaps this could re-activate the government’s work”, he said.
